Give God everything that is His ~ and that is everything!

Our last chapter was about "Complete Abandonment" of the self-life. In this chapter we turn our attention to the positive side of things. Our life, as a believer is much more than the mere negation of self. Thank God, there is a wonderful and, more than adequate, substitution! "NOT I, but Christ..." Galatians 2:20

How glad our Saviour must have been (after having said, "Not my will") to be able to resolutely declare, "...but Thine be done." Luke 22:42b. He was not left in a vacuum. Nor are we, for we consecrate ourselves unto "that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:1.

We only yield our "stubborn will" (as the hymn-writer described it) that we may become God's and God's alone. (Study Mrs. C. H. Morris' great song, Sweet Will of God.)

The American college president and revivalist, Jonathan Edwards, wrote a remarkable but simple expression of entire consecration. He recorded, "Resolved, Never, henceforth, till I die, to act as if I were any way my own, but entirely and altogether God's."

And the great missionary, David Livingstone, wrote:
"Lord, send me anywhere.
Only go with me;
Lay any burden on me.
Only sustain me.
Sever any tie...save the tie that binds me to Thy heart."
