May Update

Hello everyone,

Although it has been a while since our last blog post, the basketball ministry is still going strong. We still average about 20 per night, but we never have all the same guys from one week to another. The regulars often invite their friends to come on the van, and recently we've had a few who drive themselves to the church.

Enough guys have accepted Christ that Mr. Terry has started teaching on "A Blueprint for the Christian Life." Most have been very attentive recently and seem to be learning a lot.

That's all I have time write for now, but I will probably start posting more regularly and giving more specific details on the games and letting you know what to pray about.

Zach Marks.

December Update

Sorry it has been so long since we last posted.

In early November, Brian Terry was in town from college for a few days and was the guest speaker at the Friday night basketball. That night several of the teens made professions of salvation. WOW, fruit is being seen. Praise God.

We have been averaging 20 plus. We have been kind of hit and miss over the past few months due to schedules and holidays.

Please pray for the new Christians that they will find their strength and courage to stand in the Lord, as they come from very difficult backgrounds.

Keep the workers in your prayers as well. We need wisdom and the Lords leading on how to handle the problems that come up.

Special thanks to the following faithful workers: Marty Terry (Leader); Josh Archer; James Baggech; Steve Medlen; Jack Davis. Also, a special thanks to those who have donated snacks of all sort to the half-time snack and message time.

Until next time.
May God Bless you for your praying for this ministry.

July 20, 2007 Report

We had about 20 young men attend this evenings Post-Up. Tensions were running a bit high tonight, there is a tough battle going on for the hearts and souls the devil has a strong hold on some of these young men. Please pray that Gods light will shine so bright into the dark corners of these troubled teens lives.

Half-time was good it seems they have gotten used to the singing hymns and seem to participate more.

Continue to pray everyones safety and that the message of Gods truth and salvation will be heard and understood.

On a side note, the camera we use was knocked off the table and a lens was broken so I'm not sure if we will have pictures to post.

July 13, 2007 Report

This weeks report is from Mr. Terry.

We had 17 attend this week. Had a good half-time message about the contrast between Moses and Pharaoh. Moses exercised faith and believed God and Pharaoh hardened his heart and he and the Egyptians faced the plagues and the death angel. The blood of the lamb was placed by faith on the lintel and door posts and was seen and the destroyer passed over the Hebrews. Those who claim the merits of the shed blood of Christ also have their death sentence passed over.

The Dela Pena's were there with their friend Aaron a Catholic who is unsaved. Pray an opportunity will open there. Had a bit of a disturbance on the bus ride home. Continue to pray for our safety in transporting these young people. Continue to pray for Phil, he has been in contact with Pastor Lee and comes once in a great while, he ia searching, pray he finds true direction in Jesus.

Hope to see you all next week.

July 6, 2007 Report

Greetings,

There was a smaller then usual group (possibly due to the July 4th holiday) the 11 or so that attended were broken up into two teams set for scrimmage and played eight games total. Team Captains for the evening were Zack M. and Jay S.

We had a great spirit at snack time and the young men listened to the song and message that was brought. Mr. Baggech refereed the games and had to make very few calls because the men were catching the fouls themselves and making those call. What a great way to see that God is working when the men see mistakes and admit and correct the problem and say they are sorry.

At the end of the night we played a quick game of Knock-Out. Mr. Baggech managed to be at the basket while Mr. Terry played. He was able to stay in for a few rounds but was eventually eliminated. The three left played a truly "knock-down-drag-out" fight to the finish.
